Former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba has commended all Cross Riverians for doing the most in voting for the governor-elect Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu during the just concluded governorship polls in the state.

Speaking with FAD FM news on Wednesday, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba who thanked God for safe, peaceful, and successful elections, also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other relevant authorities who were on red alert before the elections for a job well done in ensuring the safe electoral process.
“We, first of all, thank God and then the people of Cross River State for a very peaceful election. The security outfits were on red alert but reported that everything went peacefully. the atmosphere was very calm.”

While speaking on the significance of the just concluded governorship elections in the state, senator Victor Egba said the time has come for a change and positive governance as this is the first time Cross Riverians have voted in another political party into state governance and he believes the governor-elect, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu will be a great impact to the state.
“Let me thank the people of Cross River State for voting for Senator Bassey Otu. It was our prayer, it was our wish and God crowned our effort with success. The immediate significance of this election is that for the first time in the 24 years of our democracy, we are electing the first non-PDP governor. It’s an election that dethroned the PDP more or less and brought to an end 24 years of inglorious PDP rule. The election was also a referendum of sorts, a referendum on justice and equity against experimentation, a referendum on the peaceful rotation of power between the senatorial district, against a new danger called ethnicity and the people spoke loud and clear against ethnicity and spoke loud and clear in favour of the rotational formula that has ensured peace in the state all this year.”
“The first expectation is that we will return to a more traditional form of governance where civil service will play a role. the second is that he is a man who is driven to succeed. the third is that he is a people-oriented person. He will be driven by the greater good of the greater number.” He said.
“That is my expectation for him and we will see Cross River State bubbling” He added.
