NAWOJ Cross River Congratulates Imani Odey On Her New Appointment

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Cross River Chapter has congratulated its former Secretary, Comrade Imani Odey on her recent appointment as Special Adviser on Electronic Media to the Cross River State Governor.

NAWOJ in a statement, on Thursday, said the appointment was another testimony of Imani’s ever-rising profile as a creative media guru and a rare personality of focus who in few years has proved her mettle as Senior Special Assistant, Electronic Media.

The statement was signed by the NAWOJ Chairman Cross River State Chapter, Umo-Basi Edet, a veteran journalist.

NAWOJ also commended Governor Ben Ayade, for what it described as diplomatic protocols extended to Imani, to enable her to function maximally on her State assignments.

The statement partly read, “We consider it a privilege to send you this congratulatory message, on your latest appointment as the Special Adviser on Electronic Media to the Governor.

“This congratulatory letter, is a token of our appreciation to you, on behalf of hundreds of our members across the state, for standing in the gap for Cross River State and helping to positively impact our state’s perspective as one of the states with competent human resources needed to make the country a better place.

“This is even so, as we recall, that you were the Secretary of NAWOJ Cross River State, Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, among many other appointments.

“Your various appointments and engagements as well as your experience in the media space, truly confirm you, as an inspiration to the present and future generations; as have been conferred on you in the past, through awards, by many organizations.”

“Your appointment is a testament to your media sagacity laced with experience, capacity, and competencies required to head such a sensitive position in this administration.

This noble assignment, therefore, requires the leadership and coordination of a person with unquestionable character, unshakeable integrity, vast media experience, and honest understanding of our diversity.”

The group, therefore, prayed that Imani may have good health, wisdom , grace and the Spirit of Excellence to further serve the state and the world as God may direct her.

“We hereby pray that God grant you good health and all other fruits of divine grace to be able to carry out the responsibilities He has placed on your shoulders and the courage to answer the call to duty, when Cross River needs you, as may be the case this time,” NAWOJ said.
