by The Management of the University of Calabar has created the office of a 3rd Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Institution.
This follows the approval by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, of the appointment of Prof. Peter C. Okafor of the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Faculty Of Physical Sciences, as the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research, Linkages and Collaborations.
The appointment as conveyed in a letter dated 27th July, 2023 and signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe, indicates that the appointment which is for a period of two (2) years in the first instance, takes effect from 30th July, 2023.
According to the letter, the Pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research, Linkages and Collaborations is expected to bring his wealth of experience in these critical areas to bear in assisting the Vice Chancellor achieve her lofty objectives of repositioning the university.
This is even as relevant sections of the university have been requested to accord the nascent Deputy Vice Chancellor the necessary courtesies associated with the office.
