Just In: FUTA Students Protest Ongoing Robbery Attacks

Students from the Federal University of Technology Akure, located in Ondo State, took to the streets on Friday to protest against the frequent robbery incidents targeting them off-campus.

Chanting solidarity songs, the demonstrators blocked the busy Akure -Ilesa Road, causing traffic congestion along the expressway.

The students stated that they initiated the protest to draw the attention of the university management, government authorities, and security agencies to take decisive action against the activities of the criminals.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, assured that police personnel had been dispatched to the area to prevent the protest from being infiltrated by hoodlums.

Further details will be provided soon.
