Popular Dugbe Market In Ibadan On Fire, Tears As Victims Suffer Huge Loss

The Fire outbreak which occurred on Wednesday at the popular Dugbe Market situated at the heart of Ibadan, Oyo State capital has consumed goods and properties worth millions of naira.

Uncontrollable tears and wailing overtook the victims of the fire incident. So many shops, warehouses, both large and small scale businesses with different kinds of goods and properties reduced to ashes. Some notable victims of the fire outbreak were Pelly Foam Company, a big leather shop, a pure water factory, to mention but a few were all consumed.

The Dugbe market is the viable centre of Ibadan and as such a lot of goods and service are rendered in it. Amidst the struggle of the firefighters to eliminate the fire, were some traders who despised the dangers involved and went ahead to rescue few goods from their shops before it was completely burnt.

From a reliable source, it was discovered that the fire outbreak was ignited by an electric spark which started from a welding equipment and then went out of control.

Meanwhile, the lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic is still in force and not a time for one to welcome such a loss of properties.

However, the Oyo state government sympathizes with the victims of the fire outbreak.
