Calabar, Cross River State – In a bid to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process in Cross River State, political parties have signed a peace accord at the Cross River State Police Command Headquarters.
The event, which was convened by the Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Augustine Grimah, brought together representatives from various political parties to pledge their commitment to peaceful campaigns and elections.
The Commissioner of Police, in his address, emphasized the importance of peaceful political engagement and urged all stakeholders to adhere to the rules and regulations guiding the electoral process.
The State Security Adviser and the Chairman of the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need for collaboration and peaceful coexistence.
The signing of the peace accord was followed by an interactive session where security stakeholders discussed strategies to maintain law and order during the election period.
The Cross River State Police Command has assured the public of its readiness to provide adequate security and maintain peace throughout the electoral process.
