Nollywood Unveils Tube Awards In Lagos Amidst Glitz And Glamor

Segun Arinze, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Ada Ameh and Fidelis Duker were among the celebrities who graced the unveiling of the Tube awards on Sunday night.
The event took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos.

Other celebrities in attendance include Toni Kan, Kingsley James, Bakky Adeoye, Yemi Solace, Lancelot Imasuen, Charles Novia, Madam Kofo, and Emeka Ossai.

The event was jointly hosted by Arinze, the ace actor, and Moymo, Nigerian model and Instagram influencer.
Speaking at the event, Niran Adedokun, the executive director of Tube Afrique, organisers of the awards, said the initiative would feature 27 categories.

Tope Duker, director of Tube Afrique, had earlier said the move would help change the narrative in the Nigerian TV industry.

“From reality TV shows to drama series, these artistes captivate millions of households with their interpretation of their characters. Take for instance, Sola Sobowale whose enduring fame can be traced to Wale Adenuga Productions riveting Super Story Series,” she had said.
“However, the dearth of a reward system that recognises and celebrates the talents of these individuals often leads them to chase after the big pictures. Tube Afrique is set to change that narrative with the launch of the Tube Awards.”
