Oyo Seals Church In Ibadan Over Noise Pollution

The Oyo State Government has taken the decision to close a branch of Christ Life Church situated in Golden Estate, Oluyole, Ibadan, the state capital. This action comes after the Ministry’s efforts to mediate among complainants, residents, and the church’s management yielded no resolution.

The Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Arch. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, stated in Ibadan that the state government had no alternative but to seal the church premises. This move aims to prevent potential escalation of tensions between residents and the church, given the unresolved disputes.

Residents of the community had previously barred members of Christ Life Church from entering the estate, hindering the congregation from holding services. Mogbonjubola emphasized that the current administration is committed to preventing any form of escalation.

He explained that following numerous complaints from neighboring residents about incessant noise, ministry officials, through official letters and phone calls, visited the area on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
