A 6 man gang robbery attack on a policeman last night was foiled by men of the Operation Akpakwu. Sources has it that the armed robbers attacked the police man at gun point, but their operation was foiled when Operation Akpakwu got the information and immediately chased after them.
“The chase after the robbers began at State Housing by Chief Obot Street, they were also shooting sporadically as the chase continued. In a bit to speedily outrun the Operation Akpakwu, the driver of the armed rubbery vehicle lost control and ran into a deep gutter.
“Three of the armed robbers were arrested, the other three escaped, one of them had bullet wounds” The source added that the young man who drove the car used by the robbers for the operation is the son to a former House of Assembly member.
