One Dead, Many Injured As Fire Razes IDPs Camp In Borno

Basic amenities of life will not be complete without the provision of an adequate shelter from the sun, rain and dues of the night. But, it becomes more challenging when the little made available is destroyed by human activities due to a careless attitude.

During a fire outbreak at one of the camps for displaced people in Muna garage, Borno State, One of the internationally displaced person has been confirmed dead while a lot of persons have also sustained different kinds of injury as a result of the outbreak.

The fire, according to National Emergency Management Agency, was ignited during the weekend from one of the kitchens in the emergency shelters built in the camp. 

Furthermore, National Emergency Management Agency NEMA stated that dozens of families in the camps were displaced as a result of the unforeseen fire because about 1613 households were affected. 

The unforeseen incident, it was gathered from our correspondence, had further compounded the trouble of the Internationally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
