Kano records first coronavirus death as cases rise to 21

The Ministry of Health in Kano State has announced the first coronavirus death, and also 12 new cases of the virus were confirmed late on Wednesday in the state.

The 12 new cases confirmed was made known by the Kano State Ministry of Health in a social media post published on its Twitter handle on Wednesday at 11.55 pm.

The initial 9 cases in Kanu State has now increased as Kano now have 21 confirmed cases, making it the third most infected state after Lagos and FCT in terms of cases recorded.

In a bit to further combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its spread in the state, Kano State is embarking on total lockdown beginning from 10pm on Thursday, and a harder measure imposed by the state government as a means of curtailing further spread of the virus in the state.

This is for the good of the citizens of the state and for Nigeria at large. Hence, the state government have advised everyone in the state to obey the lockdown instruction strictly as it is a major means of keeping the state free from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
