Fad Media Group Receives Award of Excellence From ARD, UCTH

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) in the University of Calabar teaching Hospital has appreciated and recognizing the contributions of Fad Media Group by presenting her an Award from the Association. The award is in recognition of the contribution of Fad Media Group to disseminating concise and accurate Health related information.
The Award of Excellence was presented to the CEO of Fad Media Group, Mr. Fidelis Duker on Sunday 20th December, 2020 during the Luncheon/Awards/Swearing-in night of the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital held at the Dome, Calabar.


In a valedictory remark by the President, ARD-UCTH, 2019/2020 DR. Esuaiko, Akaniyene Philip, he stated that the year 2020 was a peculiar one with the global COVID 19 pandemic that rapidly, and unpreparedly
changed the plans of persons and organizations globally. In spite of these challenges, as part of our
innovative strides, we were able to kick-start the ARD UCTH Emergency Trust Fund which aims to offer
some financial assistance to families of our late colleagues as well as indigent patients in UCTH and the
ARD-UCTH, phone-in radio program tagged “Hello Doctor”which is a media health outreach for people in
Calabar and neighbouring environments. Other maiden programs include; provision of Selective
Information Dissemination Services (SIDS), provision of weekly departmental ARD Pulse Computer Based Test, hosting of ARD remote CBT Mock exams and Commencement of the House Officers Stuff Hub(HOSH an online academic forum for House officers), these were aimed at improving academic excellence among
the resident doctors and the impact reflected in the academic performances of resident doctors.

Mr. Fidelis Duker, in response to the award presented, said that the award is well appreciated especially coming from the health sector. “It only says we should do more as part of our corporate social responsibility” He added.
