CRSPHCDA Director General Carries Out Free Medical Outreach/Other Items For Her Constituents

The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency Deaconess Mrs Abasioffiong Offiong has facilitated a free medical outreach for the people in her polling unit located at Open Space Akai Offiong Street. The exercise which benefited so many of her constituents was carried out to provide medical succor to both the young, the aged, the poor and even the vulnerable.

Speaking during the exercise, the director general Mrs Abasioffiong stated that the essence of the free medical outreach is to support medically those who are suffering from one ailment or another but has got little or no resources for medical attention. “There’s a great need for us to bring medical services to the doorsteps of our people. I saw a great need to provide medical services to my constituent while giving them reasons why they have to all come out in their numbers and partake in the forthcoming elections knowing that health is wealth. One must be healthy to partake in any elections that is one of the reasons for this outreach.

“I know what this exercise means to some persons today and like I’ll keep telling people that we’ll never play politics with the health and welfare of anyone, as such this free medical outreach is aimed at rendering medical support to each and every constituent of ward 6 while we make provisions of extending to other political wards and LGAs in subsequent time.”

The exercise was witnessed by other political leaders in the ward such as the Southern Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong, the Calabar Municipality House of Assembly Candidate of the APC Mr Stanley Nsemo, the Health Commissioner Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, Dr Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for International Development, the APC State Deputy Woman Leader Lady Assumpta Offiong, ward chaimam Mr Klinton Essien Offiong, 034 polling unit leader Mr Okon Ishie, and a host of other stakeholders of Ward 6.

Mrs Abasioffiong called on the people to come out en mas and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) from top to bottom using the 5/5 slogan while carrying out an intense voters education to sensitize the electorates on how to cast their votes to make such votes valid. “The message is simple, vote APC from top to bottom and as far as the Saturday’s election is concerned, its going to be 5/5 for our great party APC.” She added.

Highlights of the event was the free distribution of wrappers to thousands of women, distribution of medical consumables and other palliatives as well as free testing and medication carried out by a professional medical team as well as voters education.
