Cross River Police Nab Four Suspects for Vandalism and Theft

On August 4, 2024, around 11:35 PM, the Cross River State Police Command arrested a man named David Enere Eton, 30 years old, from Egerton Street in Calabar.

According to SP Ugbo Irene, the Police Public Relations Officer, David was caught by officers near the Deputy Governor’s Lodge while he was cutting an underground electric cable.

He admitted to using pliers to cut the cable. He has been sent to the State CID for further investigation and legal action.
Earlier that same day, at around 5:00 PM, three more suspects were arrested by Operations Sting. They were found with twelve pieces of zinc, which they stole from the Government Secondary School in Akansoko Community, Akpabuyo Local Government Area. Other items recovered included a hammer, a solar panel, a battery, and a solar bulb taken from a street in the area.

The suspects are; Augustine Bornet Edem, Male, Elisha David Akpan, Male and Akaniyene Daniel Akpan, Male.
They confessed to the crime and will be taken to court after the investigation is finished.
