CROSS RIVER COMMISSIONER FOR HOUSING, DR BEATRICE IGWE EMBARKS OF FAMILIARISATION TOUR OF MINISTRY

The ever smiling and workaholic Hon. Dr. (Mrs) Beatrice Igwe has hit the ground running as she embarked on a familiarization tour of the Ministry of Housing in Calabar on Thursday.

Dr Igwe, who was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Augustine Nyiam, directors and other staff was led to the various units and offices of the ministry and she also received first hand briefing on the state of things in the Ministry.

She interfaced with all staff of the ministry as
introductions were made. While addressing the staff, she assured of her resolve to make the ministry a shining light and a template to other ministries, and enjoined them to be dedicated to the task and promised a mother and children cordial relationship with regards to the style between her and all staff.

The Honourable Commissioner stressed on the need to avoid vices such as gossip, laziness and all forms of rancor and asked all staff to tender their opinions on what they feel is lagging so as to address them as soon as possible and expressed joy of being drafted to the Ministry of Housing.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Mr Augustine Nyiam, while briefing the newly inaugurated commissioner for Housing, echoed his knowledge of her past and present records on her love for humanity, effective service delivery and how confident she is in her capacity to deliver.

He further thanked God for granting them the gift of a virtuous woman whose wealth of experience will be greatly felt and appreciated as Housing Ministry and sector in the state.
