Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola also known as Naira Marley has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
The music star was arrested and arraigned before the Lagos State Special Offences Court at Ikeja for violating the COVID-19 order banning interstate travels earlier put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus on Thursday, August 6, 2020.
The Lagos state police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said Naira Marley presented himself at the command headquarters.
“We are in court as we speak. He will be arraigned for violating the interstate travel order. That is the aspect that concerns Lagos State,” he said.
It would be recalled that the singer travelled to the Abuja, where he held a drive-by concert at the popular Jabi Lake.
The controversial music star was called out for violating the lockdown orders instituted by the government over the surge of the novel virus.
The government thereafter shut down the mall and stopped the operation of the airline whose plane he chartered.
