Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Mr Fidelis Duker, the Chief Executive Officer of FAD 93.1 FM, Calabar were among personalities who were on Sunday conferred with awards and special recognitions at the 2019 South South Achievers Awards and Beauty Pageant held at the Transcorp Hotel, Calabar.
The awards were in recognition of significant achievements and outstanding contributions in various fields of human endeavor. Professor Ben Ayade bagged the South South Man of the year award, while Mr Fidelis Duker got special recognition as a pathfinder in film making and broadcast media.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the chief executive officer of TreyLinks, Mr Trey Jeffery, one of the event organizers, said the South South Achievers Awards and Beauty Pageant is a project that provides a platform for young Nigerians to realize their God’s given potentials in fashion, modeling and industry.
Meanwhile, Miss Faith Samuel has emerged winner in the 2019 pageant category, with Miss Abigail Bisong and Freda Bruce coming as first and second runners up.
