The immediate past commissioner for youths and skills acquisitions, and Ada Bekwarra II, Hon. Signor Omang Idiege has urged Muslims in the country to pray for peace, security, stability, and unity in the nation.

The former commissioner in a Sallah message made available to journalists urged Muslims to embrace peace, unity, and tolerance in tandem with the spirit of Eid-El-Kabir which he noted teaches love, peace, unity, tolerance, and sacrifice.

According to Ada Bekiwarra II, the season has allowed the faithful to reflect on the teachings of Islam, why people should live in harmony with one another for the common good of all, stressing that the state of the nation today demands that every citizen should live in peace so that the Almighty Allah will answer the prayers of the people for a greater and prosperous nation.

While enjoining them to also use the occasion to reach out to the less-privileged, Idiege said, “I want to urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to always be guided by the attributes and lessons from the life and times of Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW), which symbolize holiness, peace, love, and tolerance. We must put Nigeria first in all our endeavors.”

He also called on religious leaders in the country to continue to preach peace and unity to their followers and display love towards one another, noting that it is only these attributes that can make Nigeria attain greatness and development.

“We must all be committed to building a great nation and we cannot achieve that if we are not united. We must pray for our nation, call on the Almighty Allah to give us the spirit of tolerance so that we can see ourselves as brothers that are determined to bring the positive change that all of us hope for in this country,”

“Eid-el-Kabir teaches love, peace, unity, tolerance, and sacrifice and we are all enjoined to practice the teachings,” he said.
