Food Security: Gov Otu’s Wife Joins Innonative Leaders On Smart Agricultural Training In China

Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Rev. Eyonawan Bassey Otu says the application of smart agricultural technology with innovative training will help in solving part of the challenge of food security in Nigeria, starting from Cross River State.

The Governor’s Wife was speaking during a two- week study training on Scientific and Technological Innovation and Integration for Developing Countries at the Fujian International Economic Cooperation Centre, China.

The high-level training with technocrat and innovative leaders in attendance, including fourty four participants from twelve countries, also helped to strengthen bilateral relationships between the participating country representatives and the host country.

Rev. Otu who was represented by
her Special Adviser on Projects, Programs and Events, Dr. Inyang Asibong explained that the study visit was organized with the aim of promoting smart agricultural entrepreneurs from developing countries as well as sharing knowledge, innovation, and integration for the overall development of these countries.

She said Cross River State, with a huge agrarian landmass and technologically savvy young minds, will benefit from the agricultural base entrepreneurship science and technology training when organized in the state.

The training affords participants an opportunity to understudy the optoelectronic information of China, Application and Philosophical Thinking of Smart Cities, Agricultural Science and Technology for Global Food Security as well as Big Data Management in Government among others.

Participants of the three weeks Smart Agricultural training includes policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from various fields of ICT, Agriculture, Entrepreneurship Development among others.

Rev. Otu’s participation in the Smart Agricultural training underscores the vast potential of agriculture in the state and the ripple effect the introduction of technology can birth.
