Armed security men lay siege on National Assembly
DSS agents have taken over National Assembly entrance, preventing senators, Staff and other aides from entering in other to aid APC Senators to impeach Saraki and Ekweremadu.
The senator representing Kwara South and Senate Committee Chairman on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Rafiu Ibrahim has stated that the heavily-armed security men, who took over the National Assembly on Tuesday, claimed they were acting on orders from above.
He said, “I was just barred by fully armed, masked officers of the DSS from entering the National Assembly. “We’re acting on the order from above,” I was told by officers laying siege on the Assembly. All entrances blocked.”
According to Senator Ben Murray Bruce, the plan is to install Akpabio as senate president and impeach Saraki and his deputy.
”THE BACK GATE HAS BEEN BLOCKED AND OTHER GATES OPENED FOR SENATORS WHO ARE ANTIDEMOCRATIC THAT IS APC SENATORS WHO WILL INSTALL AKPABIO AS SENATE PRESIDENT AND IMPEACH SARAKI AND EKWEREMADU AND SO THERE IS AN OPENING AT THE BACK FOR THOSE WHO ARE ANTI-DEMOCRATIC TO COME IN BUT THE FORCES ARE IN FRONT HERE OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS A REGIME CHANGE. WE ANTICIPATED THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN.
THIS CANNOT STAND. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE NUMBERS. LET ME TELL YOU WHAT WILL HAPPEN. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE AMERICAN EMBASSY. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE BRITISH EMBASSY. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE EU. I HAVE REQUESTED FROM THE AMERICANS THAT THAT VISAS OF AKPABIO AND ALL THE SENATORS THAT INVOLVED BE REVOKED FOR THEM, THEIR WIVES AND CHILDREN” HE SAID
