Federal Government Extends Gradual Easing of Lockdown By Two Weeks

The gradual easing of the lockdown put in place as a means of curbing and controling the spread of Coronavirus will continue for the next two weeks. This was revealed by The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

While making the announcement during the briefing of the members of the task force in Abuja, the nation’s capital, the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, stated thus;

“Advisedly, the current phase of eased restriction will be maintained for another two weeks during which stricter enforcement and persuasion measures will be pursued.”

He further mentioned that the two weeks extension of Phase One of the eased restriction is also to help other segments of the economy to prepare efficiently for compliance with the guidelines, preparatory to reopening in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, the chairman also added that the total lockdown in Kano State is also extended by two weeks.
