Dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has been arrested and whisked out of the ancient city by Security Operatives on Monday amidst tight security.
A reliable source have mentioned that the security operatives are heading to Nassarawa state where Sanusi is expected to spend the rest of his life in refuge.
Prior to his arrest and consequent movement to Nassarawa, Sanusi was said to have been put under house arrest by the heavy security personnel of DSS, Police and Military.
He was arrest after the Palace was sealed off by the security operatives.
An impeccable source at the Kano State Government House also hinted that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, who is presiding over an emergency Executive Council Meeting, is ready to announce the new emir at any moment.
According information from the state house of assembly, the names of some of the strong and reliable noble men with direct linage to the palace have been tabled before Ganduje, who by constitution has the authority to appoint an Emir.
