Her remarks came after it was alleged that the actress rejected her admirers who saw her at a Ghanaian businessman’s birthday party, as well as shooed away journalists who wanted to film and photograph her. Rita says she realizes her celebrity status and the role the press plays at such gatherings.
She went on to say that it would be ridiculous to restrict the media from doing their jobs in public, and she urged the public to cease disseminating false information.
She took to her page to clarify the reports online, She wrote, “Duh! A person who does the kind of job I do and is out in a public place would not stop the press from doing their job. That’s lame. Stop making up stories that don’t make sense.”
