“Scientists Confirm Earth is No Longer at Risk from Newly Discovered Asteroid”

By Amboni

Scientists have confirmed that Earth is no longer at risk from the newly discovered asteroid 2024 YR4—though it may still strike the Moon.

After two months of close monitoring, NASA and the European Space Agency have virtually ruled out any threat to our planet. Initially, the odds of a collision in 2032 were as high as 3 percent. However, the European Space Agency has now reduced the risk to just 0.001 percent, while NASA estimates it at 0.0027 percent.”

“However, NASA still warns that there is a 1.7 percent chance the asteroid could strike the Moon on December 22, 2032.

Global telescopes will continue to monitor the asteroid, which could measure up to 300 feet across, as it moves away from Earth. It swings back toward us every four years.”
