PSG Clinches First Champions League Title with Historic 5–0 Victory Over Inter Milan

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) delivered a masterclass performance at the Allianz Arena, defeating Inter Milan 5–0 to secure their first UEFA Champions League title. This emphatic win marks the largest margin of victory in a European Cup final, surpassing previous records in the competition’s storied history.

The final, held under the new Swiss system format, was the first since 2004 not to feature a club from England, Spain, or Germany.

PSG’s triumph also completed a historic continental treble for the French club, having already secured the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles this season. They become the first French club to achieve this feat. As Champions League winners, PSG will face Tottenham Hotspur, the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League champions, in the upcoming UEFA Super Cup. Additionally, they have qualified for the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.

Inter Milan, aiming for their fourth European title, were overwhelmed by PSG’s relentless attack. This defeat marks their second consecutive loss in a Champions League final, following their 2023 runner-up finish. Despite their storied history, including a treble in 2010, Inter were unable to match PSG’s intensity and precision on the night.

This landmark victory not only cements PSG’s status among Europe’s elite but also signals a new era of dominance for the Parisian club on the continental stage.
