The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has announced that the engineering work on Nigeria’s first locally-made helicopter is nearly complete, bringing the country closer to having its own self-manufactured chopper.
Engr. Kareem Aduagba, Project Manager at NASENI’s Aeronautics and Air Vehicle Development Institute in Kaduna, shared this update during a Focus Group Engagement held by NASENI in Kaduna on Wednesday.

The Focus Group Engagement, attended by inventors a”Nigeria’s First Locally-Made Helicopter Nears Completion, Set for Test Flight — NASENI”

The forum brought together government officials, industry leaders, and innovators to discuss policies that will drive Nigeria’s industrial and technological development.
Aduagba emphasized, “What we are doing now is not about reinventing the wheel. We started one of our projects from scratch, and we are working on both the Made-in-Nigeria helicopter and some Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).”
