Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the 2024–25 Premier League Player of the Season, capping off a phenomenal individual campaign that propelled the Reds to their second league title in three years.
The 32-year-old Egyptian delivered one of the most dominant performances in Premier League history, scoring 28 goals and providing 18 assists in 37 appearances. His 46 goal involvements set a new record for a 38-game season, surpassing previous benchmarks and placing him just one shy of the all-time record of 47 set by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole in 42-game campaigns.
Salah’s contributions were instrumental in Liverpool clinching the title with four games to spare under new manager Arne Slot. His performances have also earned him the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Year award for the third time.
This marks Salah’s second Premier League Player of the Season award, having first won it in the 2017–18 season. He joins an elite group of players, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidić, and Kevin De Bruyne, who have won the award twice
With one game remaining against Crystal Palace, Salah is poised to become the first player in Premier League history to win the Golden Boot, Golden Playmaker, and Player of the Season awards in the same campaign.
Salah’s remarkable season has not only solidified his status as a Liverpool legend but also as one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.
