Iyanya roasted for spelling ‘Morayo’ as ‘Maroya’

After incorrectly spelling the word “Morayo” in response to claims that he had defected from Wizkid to Davido, Afrobeats musician Iyanya has come under fire once more. The dispute is a result of the two Afrobeats titans’ long-standing animosity, which has led to heated internet arguments amongst supporters of both groups.

An X user said that Iyanya had broken up his friendship with Wizkid in order to publicly promote Davido, which sparked the outrage. The Sexy Mama singer responded by stating that he supports all artists equally and mentioning a number of albums that he says he listens to on a daily basis in an effort to set the record straight.

However, Iyanya misspelled Wizkid’s tribute album Morayo, which was titled after the singer’s late mother, as “Maroya” as he was making his point. Reactions on social media were swift, with many of them ridiculing Iyanya’s mistake and casting doubt on his intentions.
