At least 404 people, including many children, have been killed in recent Israeli attacks, marking the end of a fragile two-month ceasefire in Gaza. The Health Ministry’s toll is expected to rise as more victims remain trapped under rubble. Israel, which has imposed a total blockade on aid to Gaza for over two weeks, has also issued new orders for forced displacement of Palestinians in several areas.

In response to the attacks, Hamas has condemned Israel for carrying out a “treacherous” strike on defenseless civilians, accusing the U.S. of complicity in the violence. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the airstrikes, stating that they were ordered due to a lack of progress in talks aimed at extending the ceasefire.
Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported that at least 48,577 Palestinians have been killed and 112,041 injured since the escalation began, while Gaza’s Government Media Office has updated the death toll to more than 61,700, with thousands still missing and presumed dead under the rubble. In contrast, at least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 individuals were taken captive.
