An undisclosed amount of money has been carted away on Thursday by gunmen from the Nasarawa State Ministry of Finance, budget and planning.
The gunmen who launched the attack were said to have trailed two staff from the bank to the Ministry in Lafia where the money was seized at gunpoint after sporadically shooting in the air.
Reacting to the incident, the State Commissioner of Finance, Haruna Ogbole, revealed that the money carted away was worth millions, but did not mention the exact amount.
He also added that the incident was being investigated by the security agents and that perpetrators of evil will soon be brought to book.
Ogbole, while condemning the criminal act further advised staff to be security conscious every day and report every suspicious movement around them to security agents.
