Casemiro Set for Mega Pay Rise to Rival Ronaldo Despite Man Utd Exit Talks

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is poised for a significant pay increase, potentially matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s earnings, due to a clause in his contract that activates if the club qualifies for the Champions League. This clause, negotiated during his 2022 transfer from Real Madrid, would grant him a 25% salary boost, raising his weekly earnings to £500,000.

Despite this potential raise, Manchester United has been considering offloading Casemiro to reduce their wage bill. The club’s minority shareholder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has emphasized the need to cut costs, and Casemiro’s substantial salary makes him a prime candidate for transfer. Reports indicate that Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr has offered Casemiro a lucrative £650,000-a-week deal, aiming to reunite him with former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Casemiro’s future at Manchester United has been uncertain, especially after a period of limited playing time under manager Ruben Amorim. However, recent tactical adjustments have seen Casemiro regain a crucial role in the team. Amorim modified his system to better suit Casemiro’s strengths, allowing him to thrive in a deeper midfield position. This change has been instrumental in United’s Europa League campaign, with Casemiro playing a pivotal role in their 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final first leg.

Casemiro has expressed his contentment at Manchester United, stating his desire to fulfill his contract, which runs until 2026. He has turned down previous offers from Saudi clubs, emphasizing his commitment to the team and appreciation for the support from fans and teammates.

The situation presents a complex decision for Manchester United: retain a rejuvenated Casemiro at a higher wage or capitalize on transfer interest to alleviate financial pressures. As the season progresses, the club’s performance in the Europa League and Casemiro’s contributions will likely influence the final decision regarding his future.
