Cross River Government declares Tuesday as Public Holiday

The Cross River State Government has declared Tuesday, 30th July as public holiday to mark the green carnival in the state.

According to a release signed by Mr Christian Ita, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ben Ayade and made available to journalists in Calabar today, the public holiday is to encourage Cross Riverians and residents of the state to take part in the green carnival, during which about one million trees will be planted.

The release, therefore, directs individuals, schools, homes, churches, mosques, Government ministries, departments and agencies, banks, hospital and all business premises to participate in the tree planting exercise.
