Miss Dorcas Kasinde, representing Congo has won the Miss Africa 2018 Calabar.
Kasinde snatched the crown ahead of Nigeria’s Chimamaka Goodness Nnaemeka and Zambia’s Gladys Kayumba who came 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.
Miss Kasinde’s crown comes with a whooping thirty five thousand dollars ($35,000) and an SUV and will fly the flag of Africanism for the next one year.
She was coronated the true African Queen of Africanism by former Queen, Miss Gaseangwe Balopi on Friday morning in Calabar,
The 1st runner up, Miss Nnaemeka bagged home ten thousand dollars ($10,000) while Miss Kayumba carted away five thousand dollars ($5,000) as 2nd runner up.
The beauty pageants were screened to top 5 including, Miss Zambia, Miss Nigeria, Miss Sierra Leone, Miss Congo, and Miss Ghana.
The top 5 were later reduced to the last 3 finalists; Miss Nigeria, Miss Zambia, and Miss Congo – where the former emerged as winner after meeting the requirements to be crowned the Miss Africa 2018 Calabar Queen.
There were musical acts by top notch musicians like Tiwa Savage, Tuface Idibia, Mr. Real and other local musical acts which thrilled the crowd
The show was being compered by Ebuka Uchendu and Bonang Matheba while the Green Carpet was hosed by Roby Ekpo and Asari Duke
